Taco conspiracy, new book, fan mail make this year a win

The "Year In Review" option popped up on my Facebook timeline the other day.

I shuddered a bit. Not because I feared what it would show me but because what it had showed me in the past.

Last summer, I mentioned the embarrassment I felt when I viewed my 2014 Year In Review.

Seeing it contained mostly images I'd posted of Throwback Thursdays and other reminiscences of childhood, I realized I was wasting the present by living in the past.

I vowed 2015 would be different.

As my cursor hovered over the 2015 Year In Review option, I wondered if my timeline would reflect a woman moving forward toward goals and having fun or would it simply show me a bunch of pointless memes and old photos I posted for giggles.

I was not disappointed.

This year's Year In Review highlighted a life being lived. It included...

The awesomeness of my family's annual trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
The release of my debut novel and a screenshot of a piece of fan mail (identity and spoiler redacted, sorry).

The adoption of our latest family member, Ginger the Shelter Dog.
And a memento from the accusations of a conspiracy that involved law enforcement and tacos.

Believe me. You've never really lived until a complete stranger accuses you of conspiring with Nebraska law enforcement about tacos.

Considering those were just the highlights, I'm thinking this year definitely goes in the WIN column. I'm not quite sure how I can top it.

But here's to trying.

Have a Happy New Year!
