Dancing to the beat of my Circadian rhythm

As far as I can tell, experiments done on human beings are bad.
In the interest of science, however, I'm performing an experiment on myself.
Why?
Well, for the past several months I've found myself idling in the same rut.
My motivation and inspiration hits me when I'm in the shower, but by the time I come home from work, I'm too tired to be moved or inspired.
So, here's my plan.
For the next month, I'm going to crawl out of bed at 5:30 a.m. (instead of pushing the snooze button for an hour and 20 minutes). I'm also going to make it a point to be in bed by 10 p.m.
Getting up earlier should allow me to get done what I need to before work, so I don't drag my exhausted body home only to be faced with daunting tasks. Going to bed earlier should allow me to fall asleep before my husband comes into the bedroom and starts snoring like a choking gorilla.
Plus, I'm curious about what kind of change may occur in the flow of my thoughts.
I've always been a late-night writer. There have been rare occasions in the past when I have pulled myself out of bed at the crack of dawn and found that the flow of ideas is fresh and smooth.
I hope this change in schedule will help kick-start some ideas.
What time of day do you typically write? Is there a better time?

I'm with you, Kat. I seem to be a late night writer. On and on as the candle burns.

I know a couple of writers who rise early and write pages. I hope it works for you.

I do some mid morning writing, but can't imagine rolling out of bed to the computer. . .tell me how the experiment goes!

Good luck ;)

I don't know what it is, but you're the third or fourth person I know trying this...was there some article or memo I missed on this topic???

Seriously - I typically write at night (LATE at night)...or any other time I can squeeze. Fortunately, I have a very tolerate family that can handle it when I disappear for hours and hours....

I can't say I have a regular writing schedule. I do a little here and a very little there. The only day that I dedicate without fail to writing is Wednesday, which sometimes doesn't work out well. Congrats on waking up earlier in the morning. I can't do it. Or I won't do it. Yet, some how my new WIP is moving on along

I can't write in the morning. I can't do anything in the morning. I don't really wake up till about 11, even if I get up at 7.
When I do write, it's usually after 10.
I think they need to make waterproof paper and pens for the shower. I think of everything in there.
