If you make it to the tournament and compete with passion, you have what it takes to be the best on the field.
So, not celebrating this would make me kind of a hypocrit.
A series I wrote on a hospital expansion project taking place in our town placed in the top three of series writing category from the Nebraska Press Association. (Last year, I placed with a series I co-wrote about alcoholism.)
Being the cynic that I am, I asked my boss if I'd placed third out of three entries. He laughed and said, "No. Be proud of your award because series writing is one of the most competitive categories out there." My competition included dailies in the state, including Grand Island, Kearney and North Platte.
So, not to toot my own horn or anything but . . .YAY!

Hey Kat! That is awesome! Winning any kind of award for writing is usually very hard. That will look great on your record. :-)

(not my blog)
That's A-Rod comforting Joey Cora after the Mariners lost the 95 AL Championship.
That moment endeared Joey Cora in the hearts of M's fans forever (but we still hate A-Rod). So I say go ahead and cry, show some emotion. Let it all out. It shows that you're human.
And congrats!
