Don't touch

This post is for those who doubt the validity of stress and its impact on the spiritual and emotional health.

When something (bright lights, loud colors) hurts your eyes, what do you do?

You look away.

When something (offensive music, loud noises) hurts your ears, what do you do?

You plug your ears.

When something smells bad, what do you do?

You plug your nose.

When something tastes bad, what do you do?

You either spit it out or cover your mouth.

It's human nature to avoid that which causes us pain, but we can't avoid feeling that which touches us deeply without acquiring bad habits and propping ourselves up with unhealthy vices.

That's why it's necessary to find positive ways to deal with negative emotions.

On Thursday: The sweetest, shortest, sure-firest way to motivate yourself for a workout.

In the meantime, how was your weekend? Tweet at me. Email me. Or leave a comment below.

During the last year or so I have been able to keep a handle on negative things that happen. I just seem to be able to focus on the broader aspect of things. That allows me to put things in perspective.
BTW I had an awesome weekend!
